Program on Strategic Foresight

About The Program

The Strategic Foresight Program at the Center for Foreign Affairs & Defense Policy (CFADP) examines how technological disruption, shifting power balances, demographic changes, and emerging threats will redefine global security over the next several decades. Rather than reacting to crises, we map future pathways and help policymakers identify opportunities, mitigate risks, and navigate uncertain environments. Our work blends scenario modelling17, geopolitical forecasting, and data-driven analysis to illuminate the trends shaping the next generation of global statecraft

Core Pillers

Future Scenarios & Global Pathways

We build forward-looking, data-grounded scenarios that explore how political, economic, technological, and military developments could evolve. From 2030 flashpoints to 2050 megatrends, we identify the forces reshaping global power.

Space, Quantum, and Next-Generation Technologies

Beyond AI, emerging technologies such as quantum computing, advanced robotics, bio-tech, and space systems will redefine military power and economic competitiveness. We analyze how these technologies alter deterrence, escalation, and strategic stability.
